Welcome to 補鑊佬福建面 Uncle Pou Wok Hokkien Mee (Permas), a gem nestled in the heart of Bandar Baru Permas Jaya, Johor. Located at 44, Jalan Permas 9/2, this Chinese restaurant is celebrated for its authentic Fujian noodles and diverse menu that pays homage to traditional Chinese cuisine.
The star of the show is undoubtedly the Hokkien Mee. It's a dish that draws rave reviews from customers, including Jonathan Lim, who claims it to be the best in Permas. The rich, savory flavor of the noodles, combined with the freshness of squid and lala (a local shellfish), creates a delightful symphony of taste. Many patrons, like YuYan Lim, commend the tenderness of the lala and the crunchiness of the sweet and sour pork, ensuring each bite is filled with satisfaction.
But the experience at Uncle Pou Wok goes beyond just Hokkien Mee. Customers have testified to the quality of the steamed chicken, which is tender and moist, a true testament to the restaurant's commitment to culinary excellence. Foong Yee Loh noted the variety on the menu, from the succulent pork trotter to the expertly fried yong tau fu. Even if the pork trotter runs out by the evening, expect to find other delicious options like sweet and sour pork, bitter gourd, and a plethora of vegetable dishes that show a well-rounded approach to Chinese dining.
While the ambiance is straightforward, with a non-air-conditioned, no-frills coffee shop style, the heart of the experience lies in the delicious food and attentive service. Customers like Sally Tau found the staff friendly and efficient, often remarking on the quick service even during busy hours.
Uncle Pou Wok is not just about filling your stomach; it’s about enjoying an experience steeped in flavorful tradition. It's a reminder that sometimes the best meals come from humble places that focus on what truly matters: great food and a welcoming atmosphere. Best hokkien mee in Permas. Squid and lala were good too. Service could be improved

The steamed chicken was good, meat was tender and moist. Wanted to try the signature pork trotter but was sold out before 7pm. Also had lala, veg, sweet and sour pork, bitter gourd, hokkien mee etc. most of the dishes were cooked well. Staffs were attentive but almost missed out on the sweet and sour pork if we didn’t remind them. Ambience is just regular non a/c no frills coffee shop style, nothing much to talk about.

Review recommended yong tau fu and I tried small portion for 5 peices. Stuffed meat taste is ok and i like they fried the yong tau fu perfectly before cook with sauce. It would pair nice with white rice.

Food is delicious! Food served fast. Highly recommend the hokkien mee, lala, sweet and sour pork and the free flow chilli. Lala is very tender. Sweet and sour pork is very crispy.

Second time here. Brought our friends and ordered more dishes: Hokkien mee, 梅香老鼠粉, kampung chicken, fu yong egg, sliced fish steamboat, fried bittergourd with salted egg, sweet sour pork. Every dish is good. Our favourite is 梅香老鼠粉 & sliced fish steamboat.

The hokkien noodles were SO GOOD!! They were generous with the lard and you taste it in every bite. Will 100% come back again just for this dish.
